US Major Leaguer graces baseball final
Fil-Am Eugene Macalalag Espineli, a relief pitcher of the San Francisco Giants in the Major League, will grace Baseball Philippines’ Series IV finals between Cebu and Dumaguete beginning tomorrow at the Rizal Baseball Stadium.
Espineli, a full-time reliever in his first two pro seasons, will be the special guest when the Dolphins and the Unibikers start their best-of-three series for the season-ending championship organized by Community Sports Inc.
Gametime is at 10:30 a.m.
Espineli is of Filipino ancestry and played baseball in college for the Univ. of Texas and Texas Christian University. He was drafted by the Giants in the 14th round of the 2004 Major League draft.
Game Two will also start at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, which marks the first television coverage of a BP game through the support of Makisig Sports.
