Eagle Ridge's Fore by Four tilt under way

A premium lot in Rio de Oro subdivision and a Toyota Vios are up for grabs as hole-in-one prizes in the Fore by Four Invitational member-guest tournament of the sprawling Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite today and tomorrow.

The Rio de Oro property and the Toyota Vios will be won for an ace on designated holes in the two-day competition to be played at the four championship courses designed by Nick Faldo, Isao Aoki, Andy Dye and Greg Norman.

More than P2 million worth of raffle items including three Vios sedans will be given away in the raffle at the end of the 36-hole event tomorrow.

This year’s Fore by Four is supported by Sta. Lucia Realty, WG Golf, Toyota Motor Phils., Coca- Cola, Alsons Insurance Brokers Corp., San Miguel, PacSports, LG, Srixon, Microtel Inn&Suites, Philippine Airlines, Pisanti, GG&A Clubshares, G&W Clubshares, Golf Depot, Inquirer Golf/Philippine Daily Inquirer and Rizgolf.

Three hundred teams are set to dispute the top awards in five divisions – Class A for members with handicaps 0 to 9.9, Class B for 10-18.9, Class C for 19 -27.9, Class D for 28-above and the open ladies division.

Teams in Class A and Class C will play the Norman and Dye courses and those in Class B, Class D and ladies the Aoki and Faldo layouts. There will be two shotgun starts, one at 7 a.m. and the other at 12 noon today while tomorrow’s tee-off will be at 8 a.m.

Marcelino Gokesan and his guest partner Gregorio Vergara, who each won Vios cars last year, are hoping to get lucky again and have kept their partnership in the unique raffle format which gives an extra car to the partner of the member whose name is picked as winner of the grand prize.

The third Vios is at stake in a separate raffle exclusive to members.

The Fore by Four Invitational is the country’s biggest two-day member-guest event.
