A P1 million prize will be up for grabs in the second Masters Poker Cup slated Dec. 19-20 with a big field of local players participating at the Masters Poker Club at Remedios Circle in Malate.
Lisa Shy, a Filipino housewife who humbled a foreign field to rule the inaugural Masters Poker Cup last September, multi-titled Rico de la Cruz and Nick Payaoan head the local contingent in the event, expected to surpass the inaugural’s banner field of 152 players.
Shy beat top local players Jaimar Quevedo, George Salud, Fremel Arroyo, D’Amor Nario, Billy Malonzo, Payaoan and two Chinese in the final table to win the first Masters Poker Cup.
The tournament has a buy-in of P10,000 with no entry fee, according to Eric Kim, president of the Masters Poker Club.
Satellite tournaments are held daily to qualify for the P1 million Masters Poker Cup.
