The Futures Basketball League (FBL) opens its third season for the Mindanao region with an inter-school competition Dec. 6 in Davao City.
Presented by Primovit Multivitamins and supported by Gatorade, Purefoods TJ Hotdogs, Philip’s Peripherals and Accessories, and Accord Capital, the month-long tournament is expected to attract major schools from Davao City, Digos, Toril, and GenSan.
The tournament will have four divisions – boys’ mini (8-10), boys’ midgets (11-13), boys’ juniors (14-16) and junior girls (14-16).
Defending champions are Ateneo de Davao University, which is going for a three-peat in the mini division, and Holy Child College in both the midgets and boys’ junior divisions.
The girls’ division is an additional category this year as the league continues to expand. Teams from Ateneo de Davao, Assumption College, and the University of Mindanao among others have already signified their intention to join.
FBL Davao is organized by the Futures Sports and Events.
