Southwoods adopts new concept in Chairman's Cup

The Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club is going the traditional way in handling major members’ tournaments by implementing a concept that would guarantee more camaraderie in the annual Chairman’s Cup set Dec. 11 in Carmona, Cavite.

The concept, Manila Southwoods general manager Jeric Hechanova said, is to deliver a high-caliber Chairman’s Cup which guarantees the usual prizes, fun and surprises, but only this time, the tournament fee would be set to a minimum.

“Club chairman Robert John Sobrepeña and the Manila Southwoods board have agreed on this as part of giving back something to our members who have fully supported us through the years considering the Chairman’s Cup is the year’s final major and biggest tournament,” said Hechanova.

A 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GLS-Manual courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors will be on offer at the Masters No.17/Legends No.16. Royal Caribbean International/Baron Travel Corp. will stake an 8D/7N Alaska cruise with two Korean Air business class tickets Manila-Vancouver-Manila at Legends12/Masters13.

Baron Travel will also give an additional 6D/5N Asia cruise inclusive of airfare during the raffle.

Other hole-in-one prizes are Yamaha Golf cart from Kart Plaza, Texas Electric Golf Cart from The Turf Company, SYM Motorbike from SYM Motorbike, 4d/3n El Nido vacation package for two, Club Car from Pacsports, Wilson irons set with golf bag from Wilson Sports, 4D/3N Boracay golf package with hotel accommodation and rounds of golf from Coca-Cola Philippines, and a 2HP, split-type air-conditioning unit from Mit-Air Sales Center.

Except for the Yamaha, Club Car and Texas Eagle golf carts, all prizes will be raffled off during the awards night if no one scores a hole in one. Mejore is also giving a bedroom showcase consisting of a queen-size bed with two night stands and a dresser valued at P150,000.
