Masters on at Southwoods
The 12th Masters Challenge, a benefit golf tournament organized annually by the Manila Southwoods ladies chapter, tees off today at the Masters course of the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country in Carmona, Cavite.
A full field of 144 participants will play the Jack Nicklaus-designed par-72 course in an event sponsored by Manila Southwoods, Pacsports and Industries Devt. Corp. and will have The House of Friendship as beneficiary.
“The House of Friendship” is a safety house which welcomes orphaned, neglected and abandoned children, unwed mothers and the poor and the homeless,’’ said Southwoods ladies chapter president Claudine Garcia.
A side event is the Nike Golf Short game challenge, a unique event where participants hit wedge shots from the verandah of the main clubhouse to a small island green. The player closest to the pin wins a Nike SV Wedge.
