Pinoy clouters sweep series in Bangkok

-

Power-hitting Cebuana Lhuillier merely went through the motion of completing a sweep of its Final Eight assignments to barge to the championship playoff of the 16th Bangkok Annual International Slopitch Softball tournament Saturday at the Queen Sirikit field in the Suburban Thanyaburi, Bangkok.

The Filipinos only have to repeat over Korea’s Guzzlers, whom they beat twice easily (5-1, and 13-1), in their rematch match scheduled yesterday to bring home the crown.

With the way the batters of Amateur Softball Association-Philippines president Jean Henri Lhuiller shamed Koreans via a 13-hit attack in their two-hour contest in their second meeting, it looked like the Filipino will clinch the prestigious President’s Cup at stake in the Division I play, where the top eight teams after the elimination round saw action.
