Miriam keeps unbeaten slate in WBL
Miriam College scored two victories over the weekend to join School of St. Anthony on top of Group B in the High School Competitive Division of the Milo-sponsored Women’s Basketball League at the Xavier School gym.
Miriam swamped St. Pedro Poveda College (0-4, wins-losses), 50-21, on Saturday, then came back the next day to trounce Assumption Antipolo (1-4), 56-36, for its third win in row, the same mark of idle SSA.
Other Competitive Division matches saw San Beda-Alabang (3-1) clobber Community of Learners (1-3), 51-28; St. Bridget School (4-1) rout La Salle-Zobel (2-2), 65-45; and Assumption College (3-1) trip St. Theresa’s College (0-5), in Group A. Group B games had Angelicum (1-2) beating Assumption Antipolo, 70-49; and La Salle College-Antiplo blasting St. Pedro Poveda College, 66-27.
Meanwhile, Miriam College downed St. James Academy (3-1), 31-23, to remain unbeaten with four wins in Group B of the High School Developmental category. Other Group B matches had School of the Holy Spirit (2-1) beating Colegio de Sta, Rosa (0-3), 31-11; and Quezon City Science High School walking over PWU-Jasms.
Group A matches had Montessori Integrated School keeping its record clean with four wins via a 58-1 rout of UP Rural High School. Southville International School (2-1), meanwhile, clipped St. Scholastica’s Westgrove (1-3), 36-20, in Group A.
