Berame tops chess monthly

Top seed Richard Berame of Pasig City downed Cecilio Donasco of Mindanao in the fifth and final round to rule the November edition of MCC 1850 below standard chess tourney at the St. Francis Square in Mandaluyong City over the weekend.

Berame swept the five-round tournament in this MCC weekly standard event to claim the trophy and the top prize of P3,000.

Ernie Faeldonia, who emerged the best unrated player, beat Angelo Madanay while Narciso Gumila upended Raul Cabrera to finish tied for second.
