Tuason Racing paces national touring car
The Tuason Racing School team unveiled another prolific feat behind lead drivers Stuart MacDonald and Dominic Samson recently in the penultimate leg of the Philippine Touring Car Championship at the Subic International Raceway.
Both MacDonald and Samson harvested a champion trophy, runner-up and a third place, surviving great odds that proved the credibility of the Tuason Racing School powered by Ford, Petron Diesel Max, Standard Insurance, Goodyear Racing, Bioactiv, Freemuff, H&R, K&N, Speedlab, Winner Graphics, Starbright Body Kits, Dupont, OMP, Aguila Glass and media partners C! Magazine, NU 107, Mr. & Ms., and Business World.
“It’s been a while since the last race, I had to familiarize myself again with the track and luckily delivered great finishes for the team,” said MacDonald.
MacDonald, a British expat, displayed impressive defense and strategy as he ruled the first race and bagged second place in the afternoon final race to wrest overall solo leadership in the Group 3 division.
Samson proved himself worthy as a TRS new recruit when he grabbed third place in the final race.
MacDonald actually started third on the grid behind pole leader Jeff Borja and Joward Policarpio. Borja controlled the first two laps but a decisive dive steered MacDonald into the lead and preserved his post all the way to the finish line.
TRS now leads championship points for both drivers. Samson is leading the overall novice class, while MacDonald is leading the overall championship for division 3 by 25 points. “This will prove to be a special feat for TRS, we are only on our sophomore year in racing the National Championships.” as stated by both JP and Michael Tuason, who serves as team principal and team manager, respectively.
