Rookie Dillinger also tipped to join national team
Talk n Text Fil-Am rookie Jared Dillinger could also make the RP team competing in the FIBA-Asia championship next year.
The former University of Hawaii player is tipped to join the pool together with Asi Taulava, Mick Pennisi, Sonny Thoss, Ranidel de Ocampo, Kelly Williams, Kerby Raymundo, Arwind Santos, Gabe Norwood, James Yap, Willie Miller, Cyrus Baguio, Jayjay Helterbrand and Ryan Reyes.
The STAR source said these players had been asked by an emissary of RP team coach Yeng Guiao whether they’re willing to commit themselves for the national cause.
Each one has said he is willing to make himself available for the RP team anytime.
The 14 players reportedly make up the list of players to be submitted by RP coach Yeng Guiao to PBA commissioner Sonny Barrios today.
Within the week, Barrios will have a meeting with Guiao’s advisory council composed of former RP team coaches Robert Jaworski, Norman Black, Tim Cone, Jong Uichico and Chot Reyes to present the proposed RP pool.
Guiao will miss the conference as he’s to leave for the United States tomorrow. The Red Bull mentor will also be missing one game in the PBA Philippine Cup. – Nelson Beltran
