Jetski riders battle for titles at Subic

-

The country’s finest jetski riders return for another exciting battle for the titles at stake in the first Subic Watercross Challenge set Nov. 8 at the Waterfront Beach of the Subic Bay Freeport.

It will be another showcase of talent and strategy as these riders dispute the titles at stake in this event made possible through Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) administrator Armand Arreza and deputy administrator for tourism Raul Marcelo and sponsored by SBMA, Courtyard Inn, Gerry’s Grill, Networx Auto Detailing Intermatrix Inc., Joey4xForce and Networx Jetsports.

Highlighting the event is the second round of the showdown between top teams Networx Jetsports and Team Zouave.  Networx Jetsports prevailed in the first encounter, bagging 15 trophies with six wins, three runners-up and three third places up against Zouave Racing’s 3-5-2 tally.

Fresh from his stint in the World Jetski Finals in Lake Havasu, Arizona, three-time Rider of the Year Paul del Rosario hopes to steer another big harvest for Networx Jetsports as he guns for the titles in the premier Expert Runabout1200 Open Unlimited and the Expert Open Ski classes.

Del Rosario will be parading his reliable Kawasaki as he tackles tough challenge from teammate and top female rider Jam Mangio and Team Zouave’s Robbie David in the Expert Runabout1200 Open Unlimited.

He’s also eyeing another superb performance in the Open Expert Ski division where he’ll be facing two veteran champions John Dee and Carlo Garcia.

Team Zouave, on the other hand, will be banking on Butch Casido in the Novice 4-Strokes and Open Novice Ski, Romeo Macapinlac in the Novice 2-Strokes and David in the Executive class.

Another Rider of the Year, BJ Ang, is also eyeing a repeat in the Expert Runabout Stock division up against Robbie David and Carlo Garcia

Mangio is also looking forward to another sweep in the Women’s Runabout class against Networx Jetsports teammates Abby Reyes and talented newcomer Valerie Sia.

Veteran jetskier Excel Torres, now Mayor of Tigbauan, Iloilo, seeks a repeat still flashed his old form when he won over Amiel Romero and third placer Johnny Carmelote in the Expert 800 stock.

Also gunning for the other titles of the event organized by the Jet Sports Association of the Philippines (JSAP) under JSAP president Dong Arcilla and Race Director Joey Millionado are Austrian rider Helbert Mair who’s aiming to prevail anew in the Open Novice Ski and Networx Jetsports new recruit Meynard Ko who’s eyeing another impressive feat in the Novice 4-Strokes division.
