Peewee cage league slated Nov. 15 in QC

The 2008 NYDAA-VESCON Peewee Basketball League gets underway Nov. 15 at the SanLo Sports Center on Congressional Ave., Quezon City.

UE, NCBA, St. Claire-QC, St. James College, Immaculate Concepcion of Antipolo, Elyseum Christian School, Dr. Carlos Lanting College, New Era, St. Vincent School, Golden Sunbeam Christian School, Colegio de San Lorenzo, Villager Montessori College, Judge Juan Luna-Sergio Osmena HS, North York Allied Institute, St. Clare-Caloocan, Claret and Faith Christian School of Cainta are the schools that have confirmed participation.

The tournament, one of the continuing programs of the National Youth Developmental Athletic Association and VESCON Sports, is divided into three categories: 17-under (division A and B), 15-under and 12-under.

Handled by former PBA players Andy de Guzman, Estong Ballesteros and sportsmen Elias Aguilar, Rolando Roa, Vergel Sison and Cezar Baggay, the league, with games played Saturdays and Sundays, is backed by Cerel International Manpower, Dadiguz Gym & Uniforms, Far Eastern Insurance & Safety Inc., Air21, Odie Brando of Club Filipino, San Rafael, Bulacan Councilor M. Sta. Maria, Richard Dee, Gerry’s Grill, Steel Asia, SY Marketing, HighPerCon, and Joseph Sia.
