Ateneo faces Xavier in final

Ateneo de Davao swamped Ateneo de Zamboanga, 79-37, then routed Xavier U, 57-32, to emerge the favorite to win the Small Basketeers Philippines Mindanao crown over the weekend at the Dona Pilar gymnasium in Davao City.

Ateneo’s two triumphs in the Mindanao regional finals of the Milo-sponsored SBP-Passerelle basketball tournament set it up for a return match against Xavier University of Cagayan de Oro, whose only win came at the expense of Ateneo de Zamboanga, 60-48, to claim the other finals slot.
