Milo commends Filipino Beijing Olympians

-

For fighting gallantly and even outdoing themselves in the face of tall odds, the Filipino Olympians in Beijing were commended by one of their strongest supporters, Milo.

According to Nestle AVP and Milo sports executive Pat Goc-Ong, earning a place in the tough Olympics, giving it their all and even setting new national records and personal bests were an achievement in itself.

“We’re proud of their performances and we’re confident this will inspire them to strive harder to do even better next time,” said Goc-Ong.

Record-breakers include two-time Olympian swimmer and Best Male Athlete of the 2007 Southeast Asian Games Miguel Molina (200-meter men’s individual medley event), swimmers Christel Simms (women’s 100-m freestyle), JB Walsh (men’s 200-m butterfly), and Daniel Coakley (men’s 50-m freestyle) and youthful weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz (total lift in women’s 85-kg event).

Archer Mark Javier, long jumpers Henry Dagmil and Marestella Torres, boxer Harry Tañamor, divers Rexel Ryan Fabriga and Shiela Mae Perez, shooter Eric Ang, swimmer Ryan Arabejo, and taekwondo jins Tshomlee Go and Toni Rivero made a valiant stand as well.
