UP Pep Squad eyes title repeat

The University of the Philippines Pep Squad eyes a title repeat while the Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe seeks to regain the crown it held for eight years in the 2008 UAAP Cheerdance Competition today at the Araneta Coliseum.

A huge crowd is expected at the Big Dome for this exciting competition also featuring the Ateneo Blue Bubble Battalion, the La Salle Animo Squad and the pep squads of Far Eastern U, Adamson, University of the East and National U.

The event starts at 2 p.m.

The Maroons surprised everyone last year with an awesome performance meriting them 92.66 points to end a six-year title drought in the cheerdance contest.

No thanks to some flaws at the start of its number, Salinggawi amassed only 92.16 points last year for second place.

Far Eastern U finished third last season with 91.66 points and should be a dark horse this year. – Joey Villar
