Ford-Tuason team shines in PTCC leg

-

The Ford-Tuason Racing Team came with a blast as it pulled another big haul recently in the third leg of the 2008 Philippine Touring Car Championship at the Subic International Raceway.

British expat Stuart MacDonald pivoted another 1-2 finish together with race manager Mike Tuason in the Group 3 division to power another impressive finish for Ford-TRS team backed up by Ford Philippines, Petron Diesel Max, Standard Insurance, Goodyear, Bioactive, H&R, K&N, Speedlab, Winner Graphics, Starbright Body Kits, Dupont, OMP, AIM and media partners C! Magazine, NU 107, Mr. & Ms., and Business World.

MacDonald, a product of Tuason Racing School’s advance circuit racing class, quickly grabbed the lead at the start and pulled away from the pack to rule the 10-lap race, while Tuason, aboard new Ford Focus Diesel race car, followed closely for the runner-up finish.

Dominic Samson also bagged the runner-up place in the Novice class and wound up fifth overall in the race.

“It was another tough challenge considering the risk of racing under the rain but we were all focused on winning and we’re happy we pulled through with another big finish,” said MacDonald.

Samson could have made it second behind Doby Atilano in Round 4 with Mike Tuason and MacDonald in third and fourth but were disqualified for speeding past the pace car under yellow flag conditions.
