Marcel Puyat sustained his fine form and annexed his second title on the International Junior Golf Tour in three weeks, besting a talent-laden field to rule the 13-15 division with a 71 and a 141 for a two-stroke victory over Jason Roets of
Riding on the crest of his runaway victory at the Saddlebrook Spring in
Puyat, who shot a two-under 70 in the first round, rolled in a downhill birdie putt from eight feet on No. 14 to break away from a three-way tie, then fired a superb approach shot to within a foot on the next for another birdie.
With a two-shot cushion, the ICTSI-backed shotmaker closed out with a slew of regulation pars to held off Roets, who bounced back with a 68 after a 75 for a 143, and Kokholm, who carded a 73 and a 144, for his second straight win and third overall in the season.
The win gave Puyat additional merit points, assuring his stint in the American Junior Golf Association’s Junior (AJGA) All Star Series, which starts in June. The AJGA conducts tournaments all across the
