Miñoza fires 70, climbs to seventh

Miñoza, who shot a solid 69 Thursday, went two over with back-to-back bogeys linking the nines of the Sheshan International Golf Club. But the top Filipino shotmaker recovered his bearing with a birdie on No. 11 then fired three more on Nos. 14, 15 and 18 to close out with a 33 for that 70.

After a decent 71 in the first round, Juvic Pagunsan fumbled with a six-over 78 and barely made the cut pegged at 150 with a 149.
But Artemio Murakami never recovered from a disastrous 80 and failed to advance with a 155 after a 75.
World No. 2 Phil Mickelson, raring to atone for his so-so showing in last week’s Singapore Open, fired a six-under par 66 and closed to within one stroke off Stadler with a 134.
Stadler played a steady round of three-under 69 and stayed at the helm with a 133 while Ross Fisher stood at 136 for third after a second straight 68.
