Streaking Warriors seek No. 8

The red-hot University of the East Warriors shoot for win No. 8 against dangerous Far Eastern U Tams today at the start of the second round of the 70th UAAP basketball tournament at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Warriors, completing a first round sweep, showed impressive form in their last four games, blasting the opposition after struggling against Santo Tomas, National U and Ateneo de Manila.

UAAP games have been postponed to a later date, the UAAP said yesterday.

The Blue Eagles, meanwhile, try to arrest a two-game skid as they tackle the Adamson Falcons at 2 p.m.

After downing arch-rival La Salle, 80-77, in overtime July 26 to go 4-1, Ateneo dropped two consecutive games to FEU, 64-77, and the UST, 74-87, in overtime over the weekend.

The Warriors walloped the La Salle Archers, 96-76, July 22, the State U Maroons, 97-66, July 28, the Tams, 89-60, and the Falcons, 95-70, last Sunday.
