Harbour shoots for 6th straight

-
Harbour Centre takes on Burger King today, raring not only to stretch its win run to six but also avenge its lone setback to the Whoppers even as Henkel Sista tries to sustain its own streak in the 2007 PBL Unity Cup at the Olivarez Sports Center.

With majority of the Batang Pier unable to practice with the team due to their stint in the recent SEABA Club Champions Cup in Jakarta, Harbour Centre succumbed to Burger King, 81-77, the first time they met this conference.

But with Harbour playing with a full roster this time, the Whoppers will have to double their effort if they are to repeat over the defending champions in their 2 p.m. encounter.

Harbour Centre, for one, is coming off a five-game run, including a 73-70 squeaker over arch-rival Toyota Balintawak last Saturday.

Jason Castro, fancied to win the coveted MVP plum for the second straight time, will be the player to watch for the Batang Pier along with Chico Lanete, Al Vergara, JC Intal and Jojo Duncil.

The Whoppers, on the other hand, will be spearheaded by the troika of Ronjay Buenafe, Mike Bravo and JR Quinahan.

Henkel Sista, meanwhile, guns for its fourth straight victory after dropping their first four games as it plays Toyota Balintawak at 4 p.m.

Fil-Am Ryan Reyes, who had 20 points, five assists and five steals in powering Henkel-Sista past San Miguel-Magnolia, 67-61, Tuesday, is again expected to carry the cudgels for the Super Sealers.

Although they beat the Super Sealers, 78-71, in their first meeting, the Roadkings must be able to limit the production of the 6-foot-1 Reyes.
