Pacman guard imposes curfew, visiting hours

-
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – It’s curfew time at Manny Pacquiao’s official residence here.

Rob Peters, the American security enforcer of the Pinoy boxer whenever he’s in the US, has plastered a couple of warnings at the main entrance and the bedroom door of Suite 525 of the Radisson Hotel here.

Visiting hours will be strictly imposed on the last three days before Pacquiao climbs the ring against undefeated Mexican Jorge Solis at the Alamodome. They are from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and "no visitors" on Saturday.

Pacquiao has his signature on the warnings.

"They’ve got to respect this or I’ll take them out," said Peters who was in Manila when Pacquiao faced Oscar Larios last July, and said he’d be glad to work for Pacquiao on a 24-7 basis.

The Pacquiao suite, not as big as the ones he occupied in Las Vegas in his previous fights, has been besieged with visitors everyday, including friends, relatives and even US-based fans who can always find their way in.

At night, however, only six persons stay in. They’re Pacquiao and wife Jinkee, trainers Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri, LA-based trustee Winchell Campos and Peters, who has endeared himself to the Pinoy camp.

"I’ve suggested these times to Manny and he gave it a go. I like these visiting hours because these are the times when Manny will most likely be out of the room," said the American sentry. – Abac Cordero
