Morales to grace SMB summer fest

Former World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion Erik "El Terible" Morales will grace "Sarap Mag Babad," San Miguel Beer’s signature wet and wild summer program set today at the Metrowalk in Pasig City.

It will be Morales’ second trip to the country this year, right after he starred with Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach in a well-received television commercial entitled "Umpisa ng Samahang Walang Katulad" last February.

"I’m happy to be back. The Filipinos are very warm, hospitable and walang katulad," said Morales, who will witness the San Miguel Pale Pilsen’s summer event awash with San Miguel Beer Pale Pilsen, live music from the country’s best bands, summer sports and fun games with great prizes.

Performing bands at the Metrowalk include Spoon, Session Road, Itchyworms, Sugarfree, The Dawn, and Kamikazee. An exhibition of the Brazilian arts of Poi and Samba will be demonstrated by the Hairy Dawgs Bateria and Escola De Samba De Manila.

There are also openers in Visayas and Mindanao on March 30 and 31 at the Mepz Football Field in Cebu and the Victoria Plaza Mall, Parking Lot, Davao City.

Other schedules are Boracay (April 5 and 7), Pagudpud (April 7 and 8), Lindamar Beach in Zambales, (April 5 and 7), White Beach in Puerto Galera (April 4, 5 and 7), Bantayan Islands in Cebu (April 5 and 7), Alona Beach and Bohol Divers (April 7), Dumaluan Beach (April 8, 1-6 p.m.) and BBC Public Beach (April 8, 1-6 p.m.) in Bohol along with Babad events at the Tavern Restaurant in Baguio City (April 7) and Babad "Wet and Wild" Concert in Davao Waterfront Insular on April 13.

Also set are the Babad Firedance Competition at the Summerplace, Boracay (April 27) and Babad Beach Football at Waterfront Subic (April 21-22); San Carlos, Negros (April 28 and 29) and Boracay Station 3 (May 5 and 6).
