Fil-Canadian Alex Pagulayan has confirmed his participation in the Philippine 9-Ball Open, which offers berths not only in the World Pool Championship but also in the national team competing in the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December.
"Alex (Pagulayan) is joining the competition," said Billiards and Snookers chief Ernesto Fajardo.
But while the 2004 world 9-ball champion would be back to defend the crown he won last year, pool legend Efren "Bata" Reyes and former world No. 1 Francisco "Django" Bustamante are doubtful starters in the blue-ribbon event slated March 26-31. – Joey Villar
