Judokas no show at airport

The 10-man RP judo team, supposed to be the first to arrive home from Doha, was a no-show yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, according to a member of the Manila-based RP Secretariat.
The judokas, who failed to win any medal in four days of competition, were to arrive in Manila at 1:15 p.m. The bus that was sent to the airport to pick them up returned to the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex empty.
As of presstime, members of the Secretariat were trying to contact their counterparts in Doha for more information on the whereabouts of the Filipino athletes.
"But we were told that they already left Doha. What we dont know is where they were held up because we were also told that they were not on a direct flight to Manila," said a secretariat member. No need to worry, she added, as this could be a simple case of delay. Abac Cordero
