SSC guns for playoff for 2nd berth vs FEU

San Sebastian shoots for a playoff for the last finals berth as it plays Far Eastern U today at the close of the semifinal round of the V-League presented by Shakeys at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Relegated to No. 3 spot following back-to-back losses, the Lady Stags try to go for their fifth victory against the Lady Tams in their 12 noon duel to avail themselves of the leagues 5-of-8 incentive for a crack at the second championship slot.
Adamson has taken the second spot with a 9-5 card even as it closes out its semis campaign against first finalist De La Salle at 2 p.m. in what could be a preview of the championship.
A San Sebastian loss, however, will pave the way for the DLSU-Adamson showdown for the championship in this event presented by Shakeys Pizza and presented by Sports Vision.
"I told my players how important this game is so we must play and work harder," said SSC coach Roger Gorayeb, who steered the Mendiola-based school to last seasons NCAA crown.
Gorayeb will pin his hopes on Thai import Jaroensri Bualee, Joy Pulido, Rysabelle Devanadera, Laurence Latigay and Ma. Theresa Iratay.
But FEU, though out of the race even for the battle for the bronze with a 5-9 mark, is expected to play the spoilers role in a bid to close out its stint in the event, backed by Mikasa, Accel, Vfresh, Aquabest, ABC-5 and ABC Sports, on a winning note.
The Lady Archers, which trounced FEU, 25-20, 26-24, 25-16, last Saturday to snap out of a two-game slump, had clinched the first ticket to the best-of-three finale of the tournament as early as two weeks ago.
