Larios is way ahead in training

Oscar Larios has definitely gained the head start over Manny Pacquiao.

While the Filipino boxing sensation has yet to begin his training, the dangerous Mexican puncher is already deep in it in his hometown in Guadalajara, Mexico.

For more than a week now, Larios has done daily drills starting with a one-hour run at his favorite park just 30 minutes outside Guadalajara. He’s up and running by 6 a.m.

In a special report filed by ABS-CBN sportscaster Dyan Castillejo, Larios was shown getting off his SUV, clad in a gray sweat-suit. Then he took off for his daily run.

The 29-year-old Larios, the report added, ran marathons when he was younger, and intends to extend his daily run to two hours in the next few days.

A tall glass of pineapple juice was handed Larios after the run. He takes no special medicine or vitamins during training, only the proper, healthy food.

Larios caps his morning ritual with a 20-minute abdominal workout. He hits the gym in the afternoon.

"Conditioning will play a huge role," he said in Spanish and as interpreted by Castillejo. "I’ll be ready to take all kinds of hits and be aggressive enough to give strong blows all throughout the fight."
