San Beda All-Stars unscathed in 2 starts

Unbeaten San Beda All-Stars kept up with idle pacesetter De La Salle, picking up its second straight win in the Total-Filoil-Flying V Homegrown Cup at the San Juan gym.

The Red Lions turned back the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, 85-70, in the tournament sponsored by Globe and Shell and supported by Sunbolt, Immuvit, Accel, Inihaw Circle, Bank of Commerce, Banco de Oro, PBCom, Gerry’s Grill, Solar Sports, X-24, Security Bank and Millennium Plans.

In the other alumni game, the Letran Knights of coach Itoy Esguerra continued their steady comeback, stunning powerhouse Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 73-68.

In high school action, San Beda crushed UPIS, 100-45, behind the 17 points of Garvo Lanete, while Letran turned back FEU, 75-68.
