Samigue Eman, the prized 6-10 center from the South, has been given the go-signal to play for Rain or Shine in the PBL season-opening conference unfolding Saturday at the San Andres Gym.
Butch Maniego, the leagues executive assistant, said they have already sent the Wellbest-owned franchise a letter certifying that it owns the rights to Eman.
"Rain or Shine owns the rights to Eman," Maniego said.
Maniego, however, refused to elaborate how Rain or Shine acquired it but there were reports that it was Robert Sison, who resigned as Montaña coach, who gave up Eman last December without informing the Montaña team owners.
The certification quashed claims by Montaña on Eman.
"We want to make it clear that the team owners did not ever release Eman to any other team," insisted Montaña manager Jun Abrahan.
Rain or Shine coach Leo Austria said they will always have a vacant spot for Eman, who is expected to attend the team practice anytime this week.
"Hell be a big help to us inside," said Austria, who recently re-assumed the coaching job.
The University of Mindanao standouts presence is expected to further firm up Rain or Shines already formidable roster that includes Marvin Ortiguerra, Jun Jun Cabatu, Jay-R Reyes and Jay Sagad.
