FVR graces IRAA Games

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Former President Fidel Ramos yesterday graced the opening rites of the Ilocos Region Athletic Association Games before some 3,000 delegates at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center here yesterday.

"Your theme, ‘In Sports, Go for Golden Values: Athlete First, Then Gold Medals’ is to me appropriate to the present day challenge of molding young Filipinos like you into future leaders of our country," said Ramos.

Host Gov. Victor Agbayani also graced the four-day event, which would serve as a qualifier for the Palarong Pambansa slated May 7-13 in Naga City. – Cesar S. Ramirez
