Juggernaut showed her readiness for next years Triple Crown as she fashioned out a surprisingly easy victory in the Juvenile Championship race yesterday at the Sta. Ana Park. Although Juggernaut was sent as the outstanding favorite in the seven-horse field, she was expected to encounter stiff resistance, especially from Special Edition, in a duel of the undefeated two-year-old chargers.
But Juggernaut, handled by ace jockey Jonathan Hernandez, proved up to task, yielding the early lead to Million Dollar before making her move at the far turn en route to the runaway win worth P1 million for the Tan stables.
It was Juggernauts fifth straight victory. She covered the 1-mile race in 1:41 with quartertimes of 24-23-24-27.
Special Edition settled for second worth P376,750 for the Cayco family while Jet Sutter and Dixie the Younger finished third and fourth, respectively. Ramon Romualdez
