Nike sweeps Fil-Am golf invitational

BAGUIO CITY Nike swept the top honors in the 56th Fil-Am invitational at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay yesterday.
Nikes Fil and Am teams won the top flights. Nikes took the Fil Championship with a 153- 568 for a 23-point victory over Southwoods which closed with 145.
Juvic Pagunsan bounced back after failing to count Friday with an eagle-aided six-under 63 for 42 at the CJH golf course. Jay Bayron closed out with 39, a three under 65, while Abe Rosal and Mario Labajo carded even pars for 36 points.
Southwoods ended up with 145 points on Erwin Vinluans 39, the 37 of Gene Bondoc and the 35 and 34 of Jan Michael Yee and Anthony Fernando, respectively.
But Nikes Am team had a difficult time in a roller coaster back nine where it relinquished the lead before recoverring in the last three holes when Southwoods collapsed. Artemio Dumlao
