Women booters take last crack at bronze

The Philippine womens football team make a last ditch effort for the bronze medal against formidable Myanmar at 4 p.m. today at the Marikina Sports Park.
After losing, 5-1, to defending champion Vietnam Sunday, the Nationals now need to score three goals against Myanmar to finish the tournament with a medal.
Anything short of that will give Thailand the bronze medal because of a better "goals for-goals against" quotient. Myanmar was the silver medalist in the 22nd SEA Games and although it is on top of this editions tournament, local aficionados still favor Vietnam to retain the crown.
Vietnam ran roughshod over a listless Pinay squad that never got going Sunday before some 11,000 blue-clad fans . On the day it needed to play at its highest level, the Nationals were at their lowest. - Tristan Roslin Taboac
