Kaew Pongprayoon, who is tipped to win the pinweight gold for Thailands boxing team, could be out of the competition after suffering a cut over his eye during training the other day in Bacolod City.
The Thai boxer was not wearing a headgear while sparring with world champion Somjid Jongjorhor.
"I dont know whether he can take part in the tournament or not," said Thailands Cuban coach Jerge Hernandez. "He is one of our best gold medal hopes."
Hernandez said a doctor will check on his fighter and would decide if the latter could join the boxing competitions scheduled to start tomorrow.
Kaew, however, shrugged off the injury. "Its just a small cut. I think it will be okay by Monday." Abac Cordero
