Football fans asked to wear RP team colors

-
Johnny Romualdez, president of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), is asking all football fans and enthusiasts to wear the colors of the National Team in every matchday of SEA Games football beginning Nov. 20 in Bacolod City (men) and Nov. 23 in Marikina City (women).

Romualdez cited the positive effects of ‘people-support’ in South Korea and Japan when both countries co-hosted World Cup 2002.

"Wearing the team colors, flag waving, and even face painting and hair dyeing to the colors of the national team gave psychological rewards to the co-hosts who finished their ‘best-ever’ in World Cup competition. South Korea placed 4th while Japan made it to the Top 16," he added,

More than 500,000 South Koreans in red shirts and jerseys poured onto the streets of Seoul to celebrate their country’s victory.
