Aces come back, rap hapless Kings

- Joey Villar, Nelson Beltran -
Alaska Milk came back from its bitter loss to Purefoods the last time out where it squandered a huge 29-point lead, pounding Barangay Ginebra in an emphatic 102-72 victory in the San Mig Coffee PBA Fiesta Cup at the Araneta Coliseum last night.

The Aces came out smoking from their 90-92 overtime loss to the Hotdogs Friday, outclassing the Kings in a splendid performance worthy of their billing as a pre-tournament favorite.

Snapping a two-game skid with the most lopsided win in the season thus far, the Aces drew level with the Kings and the Red Bull Barakos on identical 2-2 win-loss records.

"I have to give credit to the boys for bouncing back like this. You really have to appreciate this bunch of young guys learning their lesson real well," said Alaska coach Tim Cone.

Cone said he was nervous as they headed to the dugout for the halftime break with a 51-32 margin. "I’d never been so nervous being up by 19 points at halftime. I was so nervous and shaking because of what happened the last time, " he said.

Talk n Text outplayed Sta. Lucia Realty in the fourth quarter, making it three in a row with a come-from-behind 87-80 win in the nightcap.

New Sta. Lucia import Leon White came up with a double-double game with 18 points and 17 rebounds but that wasn’t enough to save the Realtors from suffering a second loss in four starts.
