Andrada retires as Philta chief

After almost two decades of serving as president of the Philippine Tennis Association, Salvador "Buddy" Andrada is finally retiring.

Citing health as one of the primary reasons, Andrada, who served as head of Philta starting in 1987, will formally relinquish his post to his executive vice-president Manuel Misa next week.

"I’ve done my part," said Andrada, who was appointed by Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose "Peping" Cojuangco, Jr. as deputy of secretary-general Steve Hontiveros.

Misa, who also works as a shipping executive, will serve out the remaining two years of Andrada’s four-year term. — Joey Villar
