Mikola turns back Jones for golden double

-
ROSARIO, Batangas – Getting the feel of the track he disliked and overcoming a number of distractions, ace Indon racer Ananda Mikola fended off another serious challenge from Aussie Christian Jones to complete a two-leg sweep in the Addict Mobile Asian Formula 3 Super Prix here Sunday.

In a race marred by crashes, collissions and irritating back markers, Mikola came out the winner again, besting 2004 AF3 Series champion Jones in 31 minutes and 4.550 seconds – more than nine minutes faster than the one he dished out in ruling the first race early Sunday.

"I had a big start and just held on to the finish. I also saw big crashes and I was a bit worried about my tires but everything went okay," said Fastrong Racing with Threebond’s Ananda.

Riding for Christian Jones Motrosports, Jones, who is reportedly going Formula 1 at the end of the year, was slowed down by back markers again and contented himself in tailing Mikola the whole time, settling for second in 31:07.712. — Joey Villar
