Second choice Speed Advantage was third to get out of the gate and stayed behind stablemate Speed Majesty in a long stretch before making a big charge after the final bend to rule the 2005 Philracom Chairmans Cup at the Sta. Ana Park yesterday.
Speed Advantage responded to the prodding of jockey Antonio Alcasid Jr. in the homestretch and beat top favorite Real Spicy by three lengths to win the guaranteed cash prize of P600,000 for owner Robert Yutadco.
Real Spicy, ridden by Patricio Dillema, also jumped out of the starting gate a little late and needed a strong dash at the finish to come in second for P225,000.
Euro Backs, with Jessie Guce on top, finished third in the race covering 1,600 meters and held in honor of PCSO chairman Sergio Valencia. Ramon Romualdez
