180 vie in Samsung Tour leg in Baguio

-
Golfers from the north will take the lead in the chase for tickets to the national finals in the sixth eliminations stop of the popular Samsung Amateur Tour starting with the championship division Tuesday at the Camp John Hay course in Baguio City.

A field of about 180 players will be aiming for the top awards not just in the 72-hole championship class but in the 36-hole battles in Class A, B, C and D of the men’s division and the ladies’ Class A, B and C.

The Samsung Tour competitions fire off John Hay’s year-end calendar of major events to be capped by the Fil-Am championships in December.

The course-hopping Samsung Tour is also sponsored by Tokyo Tokyo, C-Lium Fiber, Gatorade, Philippine Airlines, adidas Taylor Made, KZG by Custom Clubmakers, Pink Patio Boracay, Coppertone Sport,  and Rogin-E. Killer-Bee, Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5 RT and 103.5 K-Lite are media partners.

"It’s the best time to play golf in Baguio and the course just couldn’t have a better condition than what it has now," said head organizer Boy Blue Ocampo.

Ocampo also lauded the support of the Camp John Hay Dev’t Co. and Fil-Estate through Camp John Hay golf manager Bong Vilchez who has been on top of the course preparations.

After this week’s Baguio leg, the last eliminations stop will be played at Cebu Country Club Dec. 14-17.
