Imagine getting the best seats at the Staples Center cheering for Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers against the world champion Detroit Pistons with top actor Jack Nicholson providing his usual theatrics on the side.
This is typically what the Laker Girls, here for a four-day show with the NBA Madness at the SM Megamall Parking Lot C, do year-in and year-out, win or lose.
"Its an amazing job, probably the best job in the world. There are definitely a lot of high points," said Kristin Jacobs, a Dietics/Nutrition student at Cal State Long Beach and a pro dancer for films and television on the side who is on her third season as a member of the NBAs premier cheer/dance squad.
Jacobs, whose hobbies are snowboarding, arts and crafts, working out and knitting among others, is one of the six members of the world famous Laker Girls who are treating local fans with their high-energy moves they display during NBA games back home.
The group also includes two members with Filipino lineage Alexie Agdeppa and Cheryl Aure.
Agdeppa, who is on her second year and a Dance/World Arts and Cultures major at UCLA, has a mom Lorna Natividad from Camiling, Tarlac while Aure, a third year Laker Girl and graduate at USC with a degree in communication, has Conchita Reyes as mother whos from Cavite.
