Basuel, Gan cop graded masters titles

Ezzie Gan of TBAM-PRIMA and Dinah Basuel of Unique topped their respective divisions yesterday in the Graded Masters Finals of the 33rd Boysen-PBC International Open at the Green Valley Country Club in Pasig City.

Gan rolled in 2527 pinfalls (222-180-241-188-232-216-185-208-212-226-202-215) to rule the men’s division. TCBA’s Nilo Penado tallied 2465 pinfalls for second followed by PTBA’s Alejandro Uy (2464).

Basuel, a dentist by profession, collected 2420 pinfalls to capture the ladies title while Shalima Zalsha, a 13-year-old high school student from Indonesia finished second with 2407 pinfalls.

TBAM-PRIMA’s Joan Yambao was third with 2173 pinfalls.

Meanwhile, Korean Kim Hyo Mi scored 1784 pinfalls to take the lead after the first block (eight games) in the ladies Open Masters Finals of this tournament sanctioned by the International Bowling Federation (FIQ) and the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) with support from Generali Pilipinas, Boysen Wave Bowling Products, Prima Pasta, Bowlmart, Kegel Asia, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria, ILO Construction, HS Pow Construction, Mabz Builders, Axis Construction, Harpoon Marine, Pagaling Castillo Designers and Green Valley Country Club.
