NBC unwraps today

The final pre-season series of the National Basketball Conference (NBC) unwraps today with four teams vying in the Panasonic Iloilo Cup tournament at the University of San Agustin gym in Iloilo City.

It will be reigning CBF President’s Cup champion Cebu-GMC General Feeds against the Baguio City Cardinals at 5 p.m. and the Iloilo All-Stars against Spring Cooking Oil-San Pablo at 6:30.

A 30-minute opening ceremony at 4:30 will kick off the series backed by Sulpicio Lines and Panasonic.

Leading the host team are former FEU standout Rhagnee Sinco, Steve Marucot and former MBA cager Carlos Sayon.

The Seven Lakes champion squad of shooting champion Nathaniel "Tac" Padilla and Mayor Florante "Boy" Aquino will be bannered by Ernani Epondulan, Rodel Manuel, Mar Reyes, Robin Mendoza and Chris Corbin.

The series, which ends on May 9, serves as a sneak preview of the NBC national championship slated to open late this month.

Meanwhile, NBC will hold its first managers and senior representatives meeting tomorrow at the Amigo Hotel in Iloilo. This will be followed by a press conference.
