Quirimit grateful for Tanduay help

BAGUIOArriving in this scenic and chilly vacation capital, Tanduay Rhum captain Arnel Quirimit knows that the Air21 Tour Pilipinas 2004 will just be a footnote in his stellar career.
A footnote hed rather forget, save for one very important thing.
"I would just like to thank Tanduay for all the support it has extended to the team and myself," said the deposed individual champion in Filipino. "I have never seen such determination and support in a sponsor."
In a clear display of "Celebrating the Filipino Spirit," the theme of Tanduays 150th Anniversary celebration this year, the team put behind Quirimits misfortunes in the early stages and is fighting still.
From ninth spot Wednesday, Tanduay is now in sixth overall, thanks to a fourth place finish by Quirimit yesterday, towing the team to a third place finish for the stage.
"Thats what sports and competition are all about, you keep on fighting no matter what," said Larry Li, Tanduays advertising manager.
