Spring Cooking Oil scuttles AdU

-
Spring Cooking Oil-San Pablo’s 7 Lakes stopped Manila-Adamson University, 74-69, Saturday to arrange a showdown with the Falcons for the Panasonic-7 Lakes Cup Invitational basketball tournament at the Aquino gym in San Pablo City.

Veteran Mar Reyes knocked in a triple in the last 10 seconds to give the 7 Lakes the five-point margin they needed to make the finals after finishing in a tie with the Falcons and the UA-Pampanga Pelicans at 2-1 in the tourney hosted by Mayor Pablo Aquino and sponsored by Sulpicio Lines.

The Pelicans whipped Sulpicio Lines-Cagayan de Oro, 88-77, in the other game.

The Falcons emerged No. 1 in the tiebreak with a plus 3 quotient, followed by Spring-SP of national shooting champion Nathaniel "Tac" Padilla and Mayor Aquino with minus 1.
