Hazards of playing in CityGolf

-
Only golf courses offer the challenge of hitting shots into target greens heavily guarded by water hazards and bunkers, right?

Wrong.

CityGolf, a driving range rising in the booming Ortigas business district, is set to open March 26, offering a unique concept where players can experience the actual conditions of attacking the pins with its risks and rewards.

Located along Julia Vargas Ave. in Bo. Ugong, Pasig, CityGolf is a two-level facility with a total of 43 bays.

All clubs in the bag can be used at City Golf with its overall length of 250 yards. To be seen from the hitting point is the undulating fairway made of the all-weather Tifton 419 breed of grass and target greens complete with a water hazard and sand traps.

Raoul Lachica, president of CityGolf, said that the name of the facility alone speaks for the experience.

"We wanted it to approximate the actuals conditions in a golf course so we made sure that the challenges are there and all clubs from the wedges, irons to the woods can be used," he said.

The hitting mats are of the Fibrebuilt brand from Canada and there will be locker room facilities for both male and female clients. Operations will be day and night since the range is well-lighted.

Lachica believes that the range will cater to a wide ranger of golfers since it is right in the heart of a business complex not to mention the fact that it is surrounded by exclusive villages in Pasig, San Juan and Quezon City.

It is also close to Makati, Antipolo, Marikina.

City Golf is bound to be a favorite hangout since it will also house several golf shops and right beside it is another commercial arcade operated by the same company.

The arcade will have the most popular concessionaires of restaurants and coffee shops, a beauty salon and barber shop as well as boutiques.
