Darts officers inducted tonite

The new set of officers of the Darts Council of the Philippines will be sworn in tonight in simple rites set at the Amber’s Restaurant in Makati.

The oath-taking ceremonies will start at 8 p.m. with Philippine Sports Commission chairman Eric Buhain, Philippine Olympic Committee president Celso Dayrit, Philippine Sportswriters Association president Jimmy Cantor and Sports Communicators’ Organization of the Philippines president Eddie Alinea as guests of honor.

Errol Magtubo is the new president of the DCP. The other officers are vice president (internal) Louie de Jesus, vice president (external) Alex Reyes, treasurer Amante Santos, secretary Steve Dorotheo, auditor Ronnel Botor, director for ways and means Frida Morelos, director for youth development Logie Estacio, and directors Mon Sabalboro, Andee Arrieta and Larry Memije.

The firstmajor tournament of the DCP this year is the Mayor Rodrigo Duterte-Philmasters 2004 which will be staged at the SM City Davao from March 10 to 13. This is in conjunction with the celebration of the 67th Araw ng Dabaw.

Other tourneys lined-up ths year are thePhilippine Internaitonal Darts Open sa Hulyo, the Super Darts ‘04 (National Open Singles

Championship and the Philippine Cup team championship) in November.

Also set to be frevived are theMetro Manila Darts Leage in August, the Metro Manila Darts Circuit which will have four to six legs and the National Darts Circuit.

The DCP is also preparing to send a strong team to the Asia-Pacific Cup 2004 set in Singaporefrom September 28 to 30.
