Nine teams will be vying top honors in the FIL Division, these golf clubs areNegros Occidental Golf and Country Club,Victorias Golf and Country Club, Alabang Country Club, Riviera Golf Club, Philippine Navy GC and Manila Southwoods, and hosts Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay GC.
Among the teams competing in the Am division are Philippine Navy GC and hosts BCC and CJHGC.
Negros Occidental GCC is fielding two players and will be competing for the individual honors in the AM Division.
Except Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club and Victorias GCC, most of the competing teams in this maiden Ladies Fil-Am tournament have been playing in the decades old Baguio InterClub Golf tournament.
The Victorias Golf and Country Club is represented by Carol Lorilla, Rebecca Verdeflor, Elna Mercado, Sonia Tordesillas and team skipper Cynthia Capay are competing in the FIL Division while Josephine Go and Regina Zulueta of Negros Occidental GCC are playing in AM Division.
"We are happy to have been invited in this historic event," said Capay, team captain of Victorias GCC, who and her teammates were served fresh strawberry fruits at the BCC veranda.
"We want that Riviera Golf and Country Club be part of history, that is why we joined this tournament. We are very thankful for the support that our club has given to the team," said Beng Ibo, team captain of Riviera GCC.
"I want to conquer this (BCC) course. And am honored to play for this maiden year of Ladies Fil-Am," said Beth Menchavez of Riviera Golf and Country Club.
The 72-hole tournament, using the modified Stableford team competition (Molave point system) is supported by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PSCSO), WH Consultants Inc., HARLE Philippines,Wilson, PCI Equitable Bank, Rustans, SMART and Seattles Best.
