UA-P, DLS-Zobel, Miriam jins prevail

University of the Assumption-Pampanga, De La Salle-Zobel and Miriam College grabbed the division titles of the recent taekwondo championship of the 34th WNCAA-adidas held at the Robinsons and Glorietta malls.
Margie Dayrit (welterweight advance), Christiana Mendoza (bantam novice) and Michelle Punzalan (finweight advance) won their respective events that retained for UA-P the seniors title.
Five Archers won gold medals for juniors champion DLS-Z Janice Lagman. (middleweight advance), Criselda Roxas (juniors heavyweight advance), Andrea Yanko (middleweight novice), Angela Valera (lightweight advance) and Samantha Nieras (junior flyweight advance).
In the midgets level, bagging gold medals for champion Miriam are Danica Carpio (group 5), Ghlenniezzez Salazar (group 6) and Angelica Rodrigo (group 2).
The runners-up were Lyceum of the Philippines (seniors), Miriam (juniors) and Assumption College (midgets).
The 34th WNCAA-adidas is being supported by Rustans Essenses, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star, RPN 9, Monster Radio RX 93.1, Golds Gym and in part by Cadbury, Secret, Island Cove Resort, Goldilocks, Cafe Lupe, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs and Centrum.
On Feb. 21, defending champion St. Scholasticas College will defend its seniors cheerleading title at the Makati Coliseum starting at 1 p.m.
The National Championships is slated next month.
