Guardo Group bares sports sked

In line with its efforts to promote health and fitness awareness, the Guardo Group of Companies recently announced its calendar of sporting activities that will be held under the auspices of the various business establishments under its wings.

The Guardo Group, having the Osaka Iridology as its flagship enterprise, will organize events on basketball, tennis, marathon, badminton, motocross, mountainbike, triathlon, airsoft war, car racing and boxing.

"This affirms our commitment to support sports and other fitness-related activities. Aside from holding various sporting events, our company is also a proud benefactor to some of our young athletes in the Visayas and Mindanao," said Guardo Group’s CEO and president Jonathan Guardo.

Guardo himself, who is also the chairman of the Cebu City Sports Commission, takes part in their companies’ activities in tennis, marathon and triathlon and maintains the Jeson Guardo basketball team, a selection of Visayan cagers that joins various tournaments.

The Guardo Group recently staged the Sinulog Men’s Open Doubles participated in by netters from Cebu, Iligan and Cagayan de Oro and the Guardo Realty Sinulog Cup. Other activities held annually are the Osaka Iridology Junior Tennis Circuit, Osaka Mountainbike Championships, Surigao City-Guardosport National Motocross Open.

The Guardo Group also supports some of Cebu’s top athletes like rising tennis star Nino Siso and multi-awarded mountainbiker Marites Bitbit. Among its sponsored activities is the Carolinian Boys High School Basketball Association which starts its fourth season in February.
